Homeopathy does away with unnecessary surgery

A number of diseases are wrongly labelled as surgical diseases, only because they cannot be treated medically by mainstream medicine. Very few people know that many of these conditions are amenable to treatment by alternative systems of medicine like homeopathy. Tonsillitis, warts, piles, kidney stones, gallstones, goitre, ganglions, calcaneal spurs, benign breast tumours, prostate enlargement, polyps, and sinusitis are some conditions in which homeopathy can help to avoid surgery.

Homeopathy focuses on treating the cause rather than the effects. This is important, because the surgical treatment of certain conditions takes care of the problem only temporarily. For example, cauterising warts is known to be followed by their reappearance, often in greater numbers. Similarly, patients with sinusitis, who get their sinuses punctured, experience relief for only a short period of time, after which the complaint recurs. Piles are also known to form again even after surgical removal.

Every organ has a definite purpose. Hence, removing an organ because it is infected is not the appropriate approach. The surgical removal of enlarged tonsils does not take away the tendency of recurring infections. The truth is that in the absence of tonsils, which normally act like check posts to trap the infections within themselves, the disease bypasses the upper respiratory tract and affects the lower respiratory tract instead, increasing the possibility of developing bronchitis and asthma.

Homeopathy gets to the root of the problem and also builds up immunity, not only treating the disease but also reducing the chances of a recurrence. It advocates the use of surgery in truly surgical diseases, e.g., hernias or fractures, and in conditions where the patient’s life is at stake, e.g., in the case of coronary blockage that is more than 90% or a case of appendicitis that is threatening to rupture at any moment. In fact, there are many surgeons who prefer using homeopathic remedies pre and post operating in order to avoid the side effects produced by conventional medication. Remedies like Arnica or Hypericum are used as painkillers, and Calendula is used to facilitate early healing of the surgical wound, by virtue of its antiseptic properties.
